Harry Curtis
Growing up sailing, Harry worked as an instructor in his school summers before taking a gap year and crewing on a 22 day sailboat crossing of the Atlantic from Martinique to the Azores.
Whilst at University, he rowed and achieved the Welsh indoor record over 1K (which has since been shattered!).
He’s cycled the coastline of America from Vancouver down to Mexico and from Land’s End to John O’ Groats in the UK.
He believes that it’s never a holiday unless you can see the sea. However, he’s fully aware that there are no Pina Coladas served on London’s Calling, and ‘all inclusive’ carries a very different meaning when you’re rowing 3 hours on 3 hours off for 2 months at sea!
Above all, he’s excited to be realising this dream, having first been drawn to it at the age of 17 after watching Ben Fogle and James Cracknell’s account of the 2005 Woodville Pairs Atlantic Race ‘Through Hell and High Water’.
Of course, it goes without saying, he’s chuffed to be rowing with an experienced team of great guys in their skipper Bryan and fellow crew Jeremy.
